We had the pleasure of attending the 2012 Northern Pen Show on 22nd April which is held annually at the Clifton Arms Hotel located in the beautiful seaside town of Lytham St Annes.
The day began cloudy with some rain as we traveled to the show but the morning did brighten up although it did not dampen our spirit as the venue was a very nice establishment.Even the Lord Mayor and Mayoress made a fleeting visit.
The show was well attended by lots of well established fountain pen dealers displaying there pens, books and inks that were all available for sale.
Fountain pen repairs, tools and even a nib smoothing service was also offered on the day. There was also lots and lots of fountain pens on offer from the easily affordable low end models to some absolute stunning high end fountain pens in a multitude of designs, models and colours.
They came in numerous models and makers, some more well know than others. If i had deep pockets it would be easy to part with quite a large amount of money, unfortunately that is not the case and i can only wish.
Throughout the day many members of the public as well as collectors along with fountain pen enthusiast attended the show.It was a great event and was nice to meet up with old friend as well as meeting and talking to new pen enthusiast.
How nice it was to see a variety in the age group from the young to the more senior enthusiasts, ladies as well as gentlemen.Even pretty young ladies interested in vintage fountain pens.
All in all it was a great pen show and thoroughly enjoyed.Did you attend ? If not why ?
